Student Leadership
Empowering students through leaderships and action
Student leadership fosters voice, action, responsibility, teamwork, and personal growth.
Student Leadership
At St Patrick’s, we are proud to have a robust and inclusive Student Leadership program that empowers students to use their voice, take action, and develop lifelong leadership skills. Leadership opportunities are open to all students, allowing them to actively contribute to school life and shape our vibrant community.
Our current student leadership structure includes:
Student Representative Council (SRC)
Two students from each class are elected as SRC representatives each year. These students gather ideas and feedback from their classmates during regular class meetings, which they then bring to SRC meetings.
Student Action Teams
Students in Years Five and Six can join one of four action teams, each focused on a key area of school life:
- Sustainability and the Environment
- School Activities and Events
- Social Justice and Wellbeing
These teams follow a clear process that includes gathering student voice, creating action plans, meeting with relevant stakeholders, and sharing their work through school assemblies and the newsletter.
Library Monitors
Year Five and Six students can nominate themselves to become Library Monitors, assisting our Library Technician in keeping the library organised and welcoming.
Computer Technicians
Year Five and Six students can also become Computer Technicians, supporting the e-Learning Leader with the maintenance of digital devices. They also assist with lunchtime computer clubs and help their peers navigate school technology.
House Captains
Year Six students can apply to become House Captains, with eight leadership positions available. These students:
- Lead their House during sporting events
- Encourage team spirit, inclusivity and good sportsmanship
- Help organise House afternoons
- Take part in assemblies and other school events
Our student leaders are valued members of the school community.
Supporting All Students
For learning to take place we need to ensure that every child feels safe, happy and confident within themselves - and so a huge emphasis is placed on a strong wellbeing and support program that achieves just that!
Every Child Matters
Our entire teaching staff is dedicated to the detail and we want to ensure every child achieves to their own potential.
Isn't it time we got to know each other?
